Hikaru Cho "It's Not What it Seems"

 When is an orange not an orange?
When it's a tomato.


When is a cucumber not a cucumber?
 When it's a banana.


When is an eggplant not an eggplant?
 When it's an egg.

Hikaru Cho plays with visual expectations.The results are off putting, but fun and playful at the same time. Hikaru's object paintings speak to the idea that a painting is what it is and also what it isn't. I suppose Magritte said it best:
