Echoes: Women Inspired by Nature

This past weekend on a visit to Orange I had the chance to stop by the Orange County Center for Contemporary Art, located in the Artists Village in Santa Ana. I hadn't planned on visiting the OCCCA, but on a trip to The Gypsy Den for dinner I noticed that the building was open and decided to check it out. The current show was curated by Betty Ann Brown and Linda Vallejo, and features a wide selection of women artists; I wish I could supply names, but the labels for the show had such eloquent font that I couldn't determine who did what. Here's some of my favorite works from the show.

These two sculptures above are made from gummy bears that melt under the gallery lights and illustrate the persistence of decomposition.
