For most of my life I've known about Bob Ross; watching him create "happy trees" and "happy little paths" is almost as mesmerizing as watching Magnus Magnason and his competitors in the strongest man competitions as they pull fire trucks, toss kegs, and tractor tires. In other words, my sister and I know public access TV. This is why I was so surprised when, last week, Elton made reference to ANOTHER PBS painter that I had never heard of; Elton kept referencing "Mighty Brush" and "Magic White." After a call to Elton's mom to get the painter's name, I was introduced to William Alexander. We watched youtube videos of William for at least an hour after that; I can't believe that this is the first I've heard of this man.
